Supported LMS interfaces

imc Express supports the following LMS interfaces:

xAPI (version 1.0.0, 1.0.1, 1.0.2, 1.0.3)

xAPI is the modern standard for transferring data between learning content and LMS.
imc Express content can transfer the progress of the current learner and the test results of a final test to the LMS via xAPI. xAPI learning content is able to automatically select the learner's language from the LMS.

SCORM (Version 2004 / 1.3)

imc Express content can use SCORM 2004 1.3 to transfer the progress of the current learner and the test results of a final test to the LMS. SCORM 2004 learning content is able to automatically select the learner's language from the LMS.

The following SCORM parameters are used:

  • cmi.success_status: passed or failed in case of a final exam otherwise always unknown
  • cmi.completion_status: completed, incomplete or not attempted
  • cmi.suspend_data: internal express data
  • cmi.progress_measure: percentage of overall progress
  • cmi.score.raw: number of correct answers
  • cmi.score.min: 0
  • cmi.score.max: number of questions
  • cmi.score.scaled: percentage of correct answers
  • cmi.session_time: time spend in current session
  • cmi.exit: suspend or normal (normal is only send on completion)

SCORM (Version 1.2)

The SCORM 1.2 standard is only supported for reasons of compatibility with very old LMSs. If possible, xAPI or SCORM 2004 should be used.
The SCORM 1.2 standard does not allow the learner's current learning progress to be transferred to the LMS. The status is only transferred to the LMS when the content is completed.  The learner's language set in the LMS cannot be transferred to the learning content. The result of the final test is transferred to the LMS via SCORM 1.2.

The following SCORM parameters are used:

  • cmi.core.lesson_status: completed, incomplete, passed or failed
  • cmi.suspend_data: internal express data
  • cmi.core.score.raw: number of correct answers
  • cmi.core.score.min: 0
  • cmi.core.score.max: number of questions
  • cmi.core.session_time: time spend in current session
  • cmi.core.exit: suspend or '' (empty string '' is only send on completion)
