Webserver Configuration

The content generated by imc Express does not place any special demands on the web server.
The default "nginx" mime type mapping works out of the box.

Our content player works when the fallback mimetype application/octet-stream is used for most files.
To secure your configuration for future changes, add a fallback to application/octet-stream for all types that are not explicitly mapped.

Please note that Apple Safari requires the mime types m3u8 and ts for video playback.

imc Express suggests the following mime types (excerpt from the nginx default settings):

  • .html -> text/html
  • .txt -> text/plain
  • .xml -> text/xml
  • .js -> application/javascript
  • .woff -> application/font-woff
  • .json -> application/json
  • .m3u8 -> application/vnd.apple.mpegurl
  • .webp -> image/webp
  • .ico -> image/x-icon
  • .jpg -> image/jpeg
  • .jpeg -> image/jpeg
  • .svg -> image/svg+xml
  • .png -> image/png
  • .mp3 -> audio/mpeg
  • .ts -> video/mp2t
  • .mp4 -> video/mp4
  • .jwt -> application/octet-stream
  • .woff2 -> application/octet-stream
